MFI Type Zeolite Aggregates with Nanosized Particles via a Combination of Spray Drying and Steam-Assisted Crystallization (SAC) Techniques

Hydrothermal synthesis is the state-of-the-art technique for preparation of zeolites and related porous solids. However, when it comes to nanosized zeolites, this limited by low yields, separation problems high amounts waste. In work, we utilized strengths a combination spray drying steam-assisted crystallization (SAC), also known as dry gel conversion, reduce these problems. At temperatures between 300 400 °C, was possible convert all amorphous material via SAC into zeolite particles without extra addition template. Kinetic studies revealed that about 4 8 days are needed achieve formation 100% crystalline product. The newly formed phase crystallized on surface led slight increase in primary particle size while macroscopic morphology spray-dried aggregates preserved. This work demonstrates useful tools supplementing hydrothermal zeolites.
